A few weeks ago, long queues were seen at a number of gas stations in Jakarta. The fuel crisis—especially gasoline—was caused by the late supply from Balongan refinery due to a cessation in its activity for 30 days. As a result, the government lost 1.5 million barrels of gasoline stock and had to import gasoline from Singapore, Malaysia and Thailand.
