IT was a warm and pleasant night at Senayan Mulia Hotel Ballroom, Jakarta. On a Wednesday night, last month, 13 prestigious Indonesian designers showcased their works in a fashion show titled Thousand Colors of Nusantara Fabrics. Each dress was made with traditional Indonesian cloth of many kinds, including Songket woven fabrics of Jambi and Riau, gringsing knot-woven fabrics, as well as batik fabrics of Garut and Sidoarjo
