A series of incidents in and around Ambon left a string of dead last week. Three people died and 16 were seriously injured in an attack on the motorboat Anda II as it was carrying 100 passengers in the island’s so-called ‘inner gulf’. Five speedboats approached with some 20 people on board as the Anda II was making its journey. Then machine gun fire suddenly burst out towards it and its passengers.
