The immediate threat of danger from Senayan sports stadium in Jakarta has passed. The streets have returned back to normal. The threat of mass riots has again subsided. Although the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) building remains fenced behind water filled walls and barbed wire, fears of widespread bloodshed following the DPR’s issuance of the second memorandum against the president, have proven empty.
