A City Inundated

A public outcry charges the Jakarta city administration with lacking a proper blueprint to combat flooding in the city. Indiscriminate garbage disposal also adds to the problem.

To residents of Jakarta and most of the country’s population the wet and hot seasons spell nothing but disaster. Rivers and wells dry up in the dry season to cause water shortages and aggravate the problem of pollution. In the rainy season heavy downpours inundate city streets causing endless traffic congestion.
