Reconstruction Transition in Aceh
Three years have passed since the quake and tsunami that devastated Aceh. It was followed by another quake in Nias in March 2005. Last week the MDF for Aceh and Nias again released its public report on the recovery process.

IN its periodic report, the Multi Donor Fund (MDF) stated that it had allocated US$492 million in funds from the total US$673 million available. These funds were allocated to 17 projects connected with community recovery, reconstruction of large-scale infrastructure, rebuilding government systems, and environmental sustainability. In 2007, three projects for infrastructure and waste management received US$10.4 million of additional funding.
