Breaking Up is Hard to Do

Efforts to break up administrative regions are still widespread. Some are driven by a desire for power.

A MEETING of the Government Administration Commission of the House of Representatives (DPR) opened to interruptions. The interrupters pointed out the absence of elements of the Regional Representatives Council (DPD) in the meeting to deliberate the formation of a new province and 14 regencies.
