Its message was brief: a request to seek out the type of madrasah (Islamic school) in Jakarta once attended by Barack Obama, a potential US presidential candidate from the Democratic Party. As a 6-year-old, Obama indeed lived in Indonesia. “If that’s the only request, the job can be finished in a few days,” said Noor Huda Ismail, the email recipient.
