An Administration in Disorder

Within two months, a presidential decree has been twice revised. It reflects the disorder in the present administration.

President Abdurrahman Wahid has a patchy style of governance. Ministers can be replaced at any time, a formal statement from the head of state can be taken back at will. A presidential degree may be revised in a matter of days.

A presidential decree on non-ministerial government agencies clearly demonstrated the whole mess. In the space of two months, the policy on this matter has been revised twice.
