Suharto’s Present, Megawati’s Dilemma
The Attorney General has suggested that the president ‘abolish’ the suspended corruption case against former president Suharto. A close ally of Megawati sees in this the seeds of something more sinister.

Old and sick and with no official authority, former president Suharto may be a shadow of his former self but he has not lost everything. Since he was rushed to the Pertamina Hospital in South Jakarta on Monday last week as his condition worsened, the retired strongman has had only the best of treatment.
