KURNIA Widodo remembers the events of six years ago when Frederic C. Jean Salvi had to be dragged offstage at a wedding ceremony.

At the time, a singer was in the midst of belting out a dangdut (a genre of Indonesian folk and traditional popular music) song at a wedding party. A number of men and women were in front of the stage dancing.

Suddenly, Salvi grabbed the microphone and began lambasting the audience in Arabic, sucking all the joy out
