Halfhearted Compromise

Akbar Tandjung's and Hamzah Haz's stance nearing the MPR Special Session is becoming unclear. They still could side with President Abdurrahman Wahid.

Imagine that this really happened, Abdurrahman Wahid sitting alone in the palace. Not a single one of his ministers or close friends keeping him company. It must be very lonely. At the same time the commotion in the MPR (People's Consultative Assembly) building at Senayan had just cooled down. In the session, Abdurrahman Wahid was impeached and Megawati was installed as the new president.
