Several central government officials are reportedly meddling in regional heads appointments. Political parties are also said to be reserving positions for their own candidates to be submitted to the home affairs ministry.

KAMSOL’S cellular phone kept ringing on Saturday, May 21, around 9pm. That evening, Kamsol, the Head of Riau Province Education Agency, was contacted by a member of the governor’s staff and a Riau regional secretariat official.
