A faction member of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle (PDI-P) hurriedly left a meeting room at the People’s Consultative Assembly building recently, with blood flowing down his temple. Suspicion immediately prevailed among newsmen that a scuffle had broken out at the internal closed-door meeting of the bull-logoed political party. Speculation has indeed become widespread about a rift within PDI-P in the last several weeks.
