THE home of Wito, a high school teacher in Batuyang, East Lombok, is completely ruined. About 300 people broke down his front door at the end of last week. Wielding clubs and sharp implements, they came into his home, removed all the furniture, and set it ablaze. Not only that, they also wrote denunciations of the Indonesian Islamic Propagation Institute (LDII) on the walls—the name of the organization to which Wito belongs.
