THE congress ended two days ahead of schedule. The curtain should only have come down last Saturday in Bali. The expected heated debates never materialized. Even the protest movement that had earlier threatened to split the political party in two ended in an anticlimax. At the congress last Thursday, all the delegates eventually agreed that Megawati Sukarnoputri should be re-elected as PDI-P Chairperson.
