Senior journalist Rosihan Anwar passed away at the age of 89. He was a living encyclopedia for contemporary Indonesians.

MY friendship with Rosihan began in 1968 when I started working as a journalist for Pedoman daily where he was the editor in chief. I addressed him as Aji and he called me Alamudi. Our relationship had since then continued and I last visited him in the MMC Hospital on February 7, the first day of his hospitalization there.
