Raising their own salaries reflects the selfishness of the representatives. The timing and size of the raise should be the same as those for civil servants.

WHAT is a reasonable salary for the members of the House of Representatives (DPR)? Who has the authority to determine reasonable salaries? If the people receiving the salaries are the same people as those who determine the reasonable level, problems will arise. This is what has happened with the DPR's plan to increase the salaries of DPR members. What is considered reasonable by some may seem totally unreasonable to others.
