Changing Golkar

Jusuf Kalla is pressing the Golkar Party to become a supporter of the government not its counterbalance, which could be problematic for him.

IT may not be easy for Golkar to be a party that supports the government. The main obstacle is its past political stance. The party did not support Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Jusuf Kalla when the two ran for president and vice president, respectively.
