With the failure of the Lapindo National Team, a more authoritative body is urgently needed. The government must act quickly.

IT is clear that the government does not have a comprehensive strategy to deal with the mudflow in Sidoarjo. Last week, the government decided to extend the life of the National Mudflow Relief Team by one month, and will only then establish a permanent body.
