Peruri’s purchase of money-printing machines in 2005 and 2006 seems to have been excessive.

AS the printer of the nation’s money, investment in overpriced machines by the Indonesian National Mint (Peruri) should be questioned. Three machines (printing, numbering and intaglio) were purchased from the Swiss company KBA-Giori for almost twice the price offered by the Japanese Komori Corporation. The difference is Rp161 billion, or when the interest is included, Rp197.5 billion.
