THE crisis on the price of cooking oil has become something ironic. Even though Indonesia is the world’s second largest producer of crude palm oil (CPO), it is having problems regulating supplies within the country. Several programs have been announced, but producers are still reluctant to sell CPO on the domestic market—understandably, as the export price is more tempting.
