No Tax on Knowledge

Imported books will be exempted from tax. This needs to be applied to other knowledge-based media.

THE government’s belated decision not to tax imported books on science and technology is praiseworthy. From October onwards, the public will be able to buy cheaper imported books, although the duty-free classification is currently limited to science and technology books. The more people read imported books, the more transfer of knowledge there is likely to be.
