IT is difficult to be truly convinced that the selection of the new members of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is anything more than a staged performance. One cannot escape the unpleasant odor emanating from the process or be repelled by the ‘cooked’ method the candidates were initially selected. This was apparent in the intensive lobbying of members of parliament—particularly those from the Law Commission—carried out in luxur
