Tighter monitoring of our historical artifacts is urgently needed. The antiquities board must catalog its collection thoroughly, and private ownership of artifacts must be reported.

NOBLE aims alone are not reason enough to maintain private collections of historical Indonesian artifacts. Discipline is needed in reporting every item in such collections to the antiquities board, the only authoritative body. Negligence in reporting could lead to lengthy problems, or even to a criminal case.
