No Ex-Inmates in Parliament

Political parties should not be havens for corruptors. Candidates to be nominated for the legislature must be really, really “clean.”

THE decision of the House of Representatives (DPR) to ban (former) inmates from running in the upcoming parliamentary elections is worthy of support. Prison inmates, especially those found guilty of corruption, should be seen as unworthy of representing the public in the DPR. Exceptions can be given to former political prisoners or those who committed minor crimes.
