Replacing Boediono

There is no reason why Boediono cannot be the central bank's top man. His replacement as economic coordinating minister must be non-partisan.

THE nomination of Boediono as Bank Indonesia Governor is President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono's way of breaking the impasse after the House of Representatives (DPR) rejected both candidates he previously proposed. It will succeed. There is virtually no reason for the DPR to reject a candidate of Boediono's caliber.
