The Constitutional Court's Cuts

The Constitutional Court should approve the disbanding of the Film Censorship Institute, which is now outdated. Replace it with a ratings institute, a suggestion that has nothing to do with liberalism.

FOR the next few weeks, we will be awaiting a ruling from the Constitutional Court on last December's proposal from the Indonesian Film Society to disband the Film Censorship Institute (LSF). Some of our filmmakers asked for a judicial review of Law No. 8/1992 on the Film Industry, and urged the Court to revoke the regulations establishing the LSF.
