Pursuit by patrol boats is not enough to stop illegal fishing in Indonesian waters. At the same time, local fishing industries must be revived.

As a maritime nation, we should have better ways of preventing the plundering at sea. For many years, thousands of foreign vessels have been catching fish in Indonesian waters, as if they were fishing in their own ponds.
