HUNDREDS of travelers checks rained down on the House of Representatives (DPR) on the same day that Miranda Swaray Goeltom was elected as Bank Indonesia's Senior Deputy Governor. It was later revealed that the checks were cashed directly by some of the legislators themselves, or by their wives or personal drivers. It doesn't take much to smell the odor of bribery and corruption over the process of electing important officials of the central bank.
