It seems that writing a letter to the editor can result in a jail sentence. The appeals court must correct this.

IT really is too much: the writer of a letter to a newspaper has been jailed. This has never happened before.
The case that makes us so upset began with several letters sent to the editors of various newspapers a year ago. The writers—Fifi Tanang, Kho Seng Seng, Pan Esther and Kwee Men Luang—sent one of their letters to the Warta Kota daily.
