Efforts to prevent the elephantiasis disease have resulted in deaths. The poor public information campaign could be one of the causes.

PREVENTION is better than cure. But when people die as a result of these preventive measures, there is something very wrong. The deaths of eight people after taking vaccines for filariasis (the end result of which is elephantiasis) in Bandung regency proves there was something wrong with the treatment, especially since hundreds of people elsewhere also suffered from nausea, vomiting and acute headache.
