IT is difficult to discern any purpose behind the Minister of Communication & Information’s draft regulation on multimedia content other than a desire to censor the Internet. Perhaps the department believes the Internet is an evil spirit. Or there may be people who want to be members of the morality police. Whatever the department’s explanation, it is difficult to hide the unpleasant aroma of censorship, which is now spreading everywhere.
