Another disaster relief has been slow at coming, this time at Ciwidey. A comprehensive approach is urgently needed.

THE government has yet to properly begin a program to ensure the public is aware of the risks of living in the middle of a volcano-ridden area. Moreover, the people themselves seem slow in seeking ways to mitigate the consequences of disasters. The latest proof of this is the slowness in handling the landslide in Tenjolaya, Ciwidey, Bandung regency, West Java last week.
Local officials only learned of the landslide seven hours after it happened. T
