Marching On

The DPR rejected a regulation on the KPK’s executive function. This does not automatically do away with Tumpak Hatorangan’s job, but he should resign.

THE rejection of the Regulation in Lieu of Law (Perpu) on the executive function of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) must not weaken it. With the current four leaders, there should be nothing to stop the KPK from becoming more active and courageous. Nowhere in the KPK Law is it stated that the commission must be led by five people.

The DPR’s reason for rejecting the Perpu may be right, that the material is no longer urgent. Issued l
