IT was difficult not to feel downhearted watching the political circus at the House of Representatives (DPR) Special Committee session on the Bank Century inquiry, which ended last week. For more than two months, the supposedly wise and eminent DPR members exhibited various aspects of entertainment that were not entertaining.

With a final vote of 325 to 212, the DPR Plenary Session ended with a victory for those who believed the policy to rescue
