Judges with Short Memories
The reduction of Artalyta Suryani’s sentence must be questioned. The Supreme Court chief should summon the judges who handled the appeal.

THE decision of the Supreme Court to “trim” the sentence handed down to Artalyta Suryani was like a slap in the face. It has only been three months since the Judicial Mafia Eradication Task Force uncovered the luxurious lifestyle of Artalyta, alias Ayin, inside the Pondok Bambu jail, East Jakarta. As a prison inmate, she was accorded the luxury of a private office, an air-conditioned bedroom and a maid on hand.
