FORGET the idea of turning Porong into a geological tourist attraction. Although the proposal came from President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono himself, treat the idea as a mere gaffe. How could tourists be attracted to Porong if the region is already in ruins? First of all, it is virtually inaccessible because of the congestion. Only visitors with nothing better to do would come.
