Life after Hendarman

The Constitutional Court ruling clarified the Attorney General’s term of office. The President must choose a replacement whose integrity is unquestionable.

THE Constitutional Court ruling did not dismiss Attorney General Agung Hendarman Supandji. And it does not seem right to accuse the court of exceeding the authority of the President. The judges took the view that the term of office of the top person at the Attorney General’s Office, which has the same status as ministers, should have ended at the same time as that of President Yudhoyono’s first administration, on October 2009.
