Instant ‘Justice’

The momentum from the Indomie case in Taiwan must be used to put our food safety standards in order. Independent verification is needed to ensure consumers are protected.

THERE are at least two things that can be done immediately in relation to the banning of Indomie instant noodles from Taiwanese markets. First, find out clearly and transparently what actually happened after the items had been on sale for 20 years in Taiwan, as suddenly the noodles made by PT Indofood were declared as unsafe. Indonesia has a right to an explanation of the ban, so that a solution can be found.
