The KPK has been powerless in its hunt for Nunun Nurbaetie in more than a year since she disappeared from the radar screen. Perhaps the KPK should have its own investigators.

THE Nunun Nurbaetie episode in the bribery case relating to the 2004 election of the Bank Indonesia senior deputy governor shows the weakness of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). The supposedly superior body has continued to appear weak, committed errors and is seemingly losing its nerve. Admittedly, some of the responsibility for this lies with the KPK itself.
