THIS years Independence Day celebration could be the one most corruptors will appreciate most. Of 1,008 corruption white-collar thieves currently in jail, no less than 444 of them obtained remission. Of these, 21 were released immediately, including Muhammad Misbakhun, the Justice and Prosperity Party (PKS) politician who was convicted of falsifying Bank Century cash payment documents to the tune of US$22.5 million.
