The government should keep a close eye on large-scale exports of unprocessed mining products or mineral ores. This oversight now has a firm legal basis in the form of Energy and Mineral Resources Ministerial Regulation No. 07/2012 on Adding Value to Minerals through Processing and Refinement, which came into force on May 6.

Companies and individuals holding mining licenses have no choice but to implement the new regulation, which has been widely pu
