End the 'Emergency

Humanitarian intervention in Syria must be stepped up after the election. Further atrocities must be stopped.

The ceasefire and election have done nothing at all to stop people dying in Syria. The proof of this is that the country has remained in turmoil over the last two weeks. In the town of Rastan, Homs, rebels killed 23 government troops. Meanwhile, supported by armored vehicles, Assads troops slaughtered civilians in Hama village. All this occurred after the multiparty elections held on May 7. Syrian President Bashar al-Assad proclaimed the poll as
