The government should not renew the PT Koba Tin contract. The company, which has mined tin in Bangka Belitung for a long time, has brought very little benefit to this nation or to the region. In fact, it has brought nothing but losses. Besides admitting to causing such deficits in the last four years, the majority Malaysian-owned company is suspected of avoiding taxes, incurring high debts and of committing irregularities.
