Akil Mochtar was free to abuse his authority at the Constitutional Court. It is unlikely that he acted alone. Special courts are needed to settle election disputes.

WE would not have been able to observe the extent of the corruption at the Constitutional Court if Akil Mochtar had not been caught in time. Akil is not only suspected of pocketing tens of billions of rupiah in bribes, it's how he obtained it that's extraordinary. His methods were crude and vulgar.
