The reluctance of the KPK to see corruptors receive the harshest possible punishment is not a good sign.

THE principle that those found guilty of corruption should be punished as harshly as possible, which the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) should fully endorse, has now been violated by that very body. In the case of Buol Regent Amran Batalipu, the KPK 'saved' him from a possible longer jail term.
