The Bintaro Tragedy

It is not enough to merely offer sympathy to the victims. It's time the government made a serious effort to turn the railroads into an effective means of public transport.

THE railroad accident at Bintaro was a tragedy that could have been avoided if only the government had been committed to improvements from the outset. Only after six deaths and 80 injured passengers prompted calls for these improvements.
