Freight Derailed
The new medium-distance passenger routes are evidence of the railway company's good performance. Freight transport needs to be expanded.

STATE-OWNED railroad company Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) deserves praise for reviving several inter-city routes. A total of 19 new routes have been opened since 2013, comprising 12 totally new lines and seven extensions of existing routes.
Another reason for this praise is the fact that the operation of these routes proves that the company has been able to expand because of good management. These new investments are possible because of KAI's success
