Wanted: Four Key Witnesses
It is tragic when police officials set bad examples in enforcing the law. An aide and three bodyguards of Supreme Court Secretary Agung Nurhadi Abdurrachman, who has twice ignored the Corruption Eradication Commission's (KPK) summons, are actually smearing the image of the police corps, adding more names to the already long list of law enforcement officials who violate the law.
The KPK was to question the four police officers as witnesses in the case against Doddy Aryanto Supeno, director of Dunia Kreasi Keluarga, who had been accused of bribing the Central Jakarta District Court secretary and clerk Edy Nasution. Following Doddy and Edy's arrests on April 20, the KPK suspected links to Nurhadi. Their suspicion grew stronger when three pieces of luggage filled with Rp1.7 billion and a list of court cases were found during the raid at Nurhadi's home.
